Other Thoughts: Took a chance on buying a refurbished unit,worked out great.It had one tiny nick by the webcam other than that works like a new unit.Called ASUS support to find out if i could upgrade to 8 gigs of ram they would not give me a answer.(went ahead and ordered 8 gigs for it) works fine..

Pros: Big screen.
Nice rubberized feel on cover and palm rest.
Win7 64-bit great sofar.
Boost quickly.

Cons: Quirky BIOS interface.
Weird password structure.

Other Thoughts: Found reviews that recommends this as no frills laptop for medium videography work, which is what I want.

I have the power setting set to the setting that uses the full CPU when unplugged, with the highest contrast video. I get about an hour at this setting, but will upgrade to the 10 or 12V lithium later.

The plastic cover may be prone to scratching, but no sign of this so far.

Other Thoughts: Don't be afraid of this laptop! This is my second 17" Toshiba and I would recommend this to a friend. Yes, there is a lot of plastic, but it is good quality and very easy to work with.
